Our members strode forwards with the torch of Dada, updating the absurd to C21. Seriously, some fantastic works were produced. we don't have photos of them all, but have a look at the Gallery for a small selection. We are now looking forwards to Iain Brown leading on techno watercolours - an exploration of the diversity of techniques on offer with this most traditional of media - on 5th November.
Thanks to Lynne Morrison for such a memorable season opener in September. Members new and old produced some stunning aboriginal style work, with a variety of colour palettes.
This Sunday 8th October we will be studying Dada, the Art of the Absurd. This movement founded in 1917 was a reaction to the absurdity of total war. It explored the unconscious and was thus a precursor to the Surrealist movement. Members will learn how to break some rules, including encouragement to cut up some (old) books! See you there...... |
